Not everyone at the wedding was a great fan of superheroes, but I got the distinct impression that all of the people there thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It is amazing what a difference it can make to some people when you dress them in batman costumes… The whole thing was really good fun and the photographs came out brilliantly. I think that it was a day that will stick in the mind of everyone who was invited.

Wearing batman costumes for your big day might not be something that really appeals to you, but don’t dismiss the idea of a themed wedding itself. There are all sorts of things that you could work around that would be more in touch with you and your partner. If you do fancy having a themed wedding then think of something that you would both like to have. Start off with a simple idea and use it as a starting point. Remember that this is your special day and that you both want to enjoy it.

There are lots of companies that supply not only fancy dress outfits, but who actually specialize in themed weddings. If you go on the net and have a look at the websites of some companies then you will soon see that there is a huge choice available. Whatever theme you both decide on having, you will be hard pushed to think of anything that cannot be catered for. Do give a brief consideration to batman costumes though… It really was very good fun.

So, now you have two sets of guests… Now it is time to find out who is the best bunch of superheroes. Will it be the ones in the Superman outfits or those in Batman costumes? There are various ways to go about finding out. Think of things that will make the true winners stand out. There are lots of party games that can be played with two teams. You could decide on traditional party activities such as musical chairs, bobbing for apples or blind man’s bluff. Or how about trying out some wacky and original games of your own. Perhaps you can think up some fun games for yourself. The more ridiculous that these games are, the more that your guests will enjoy themselves. A bunch of people dressed in Superman and Batman costumes performing some strange feat such as tug of war or space hopper racing is going to make for a good laugh. Be sure to have your camera charged and ready.

A word of warning, if you are planning to invite quite a few people then it might be a good idea if you use the services of more than just one outfit supplier. Remember that even larger companies are only going to have a certain amount of Superman and Batman costumes.

Fancy dress parties are usually good fun anyway, but if you are going to introduce the concept of two teams competing against one another then this will inject even more fun into the mix. It might be a good idea to think of a fitting and worthwhile prize to be awarded to the winning team. You don’t want your otherwise enjoyable evening to end with you being hounded down by an angry mob of partygoers in Batman costumes.
