Halloween approaches and with it, all the witchcraft and sorcery associated with this popular annual event.
Should you happen to be a parent with excited youngsters, looking forward to trick or treating, then you will know how important it is to get the costume right.
Girls get a real buzz out of becoming a littler witch for the evening and carrying their broomsticks and wearing a witches hat.
But what are we going to do for our sons?
We might immediately think of frightening characters such as zombies and ghosts, but none might appeal quite so much as the legendary batman. He was after all a figure of the night and sits very well in the halloween genre.
If you are the creative type you might be able to watch an old movie from the 60s and then create a suit on that style. It is then very easy to buy some extra from your local store such as his belt and gloves etc to complete your creation.

The 60s showed the
Batman costume with a blue/grey suit, boots and cape. The belt had the batman symbol but his hat by today’s standards, was not really up to the mark.
The darker appeal of the 2000′s might be more appealing to you and in particular your child, who will only relate to the most recent incarnation of the character, thanks to the latest movies. Not much you can do about that.So let’s see if you can create something up to the minute.
Tim Burtons character requires us to use completely black material.
When the more recent films were released batman had become an altogether more sinister character with some bad family history , due the fact he had seen his parents murdered.

Another possibly for an outfit, is Batman’s long-time side kick, Robin. ‘The Boy Wonder’ is just as recognisable and arguably as famous as ‘The Dark Knight’. If you have a look through the Batman costumes that are on offer then it won’t be long before you find several Robin outfits to choose from.
If you are considering getting dressed up as ‘The Caped Crusader’ himself then you might like to spend some time deciding which era of Batman you want to use for your outfit. There are quite a few differences between the sixties TV show Batman costumes and the ones that have featured in the string of movies in more recent years. Are you going to go for one of the heroes’ sombre and moody outfits of modern times or for the more camp and fun look of the swinging sixties? How much detail do you want your outfit to have? To attain full authenticity, Batman costumes should feature some of the impressive weapons and ‘Bat Gadgets’ that we are all so familiar with. Just how realistic you want it all to be is up to you.
Does the idea of your friends and relatives being dressed up as various villains and accomplices from the pages of one of DC comics’ most famous creations appeal to you? If so, then you could be in for a party that is a great deal of fun.
